Update for TEFAP Agencies
|
Submission of Sign-In Sheets
|
Your agency may be asked to submit EFA-7 (sign-in) forms as part of an audit. Please ensure that your agency provides the EFA-7 forms as requested. Failure to do so may result in your agency’s account being placed on HOLD, until the EFA-7 forms have been received. Agencies will be asked to submit the EFA-7 forms periodically, not monthly, for auditing purposes.
|
TEFAP forms and posters have recently been updated. If your agency needs new posters or forms, please visit the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank’s website HERE or contact a member of Agency Relations.

Summer is here, and temperatures are on the rise. As the temperature increases, the chances of developing Heat Exhaustion or Heat Stroke also increase. Watch for signs and symptoms in yourself and others. Pay special attention to small children and older adults, as they are at higher risk of developing heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Please see the resource below that can be helpful at your agency site when training staff or volunteers about the identification and prevention of heat-related illnesses.

Food, Nutrition and Healthy Tips
|
Learn how to influence healthier choices at your next distribution by “nudging” your customers using these helpful tips.
|
- Place fruits and vegetables at the front of your distribution line.
- Make healthy foods easy to reach by placing them at eye level while ultra-processed products are on lower shelves or “by request” only.
- Provide multiple opportunities for fresh produce by priming clients, offering samples in your waiting room.
- Upgrade your display infrastructure by swapping out cardboard boxes for baskets or wood crates, or invest in larger produce displays.
- Use tablecloths to add color to your distribution. Pick through any produce that isn’t in a condition you would want to eat, to further dignify your distribution.
- Give the impression of abundance by bringing produce to the front of a table or cooler throughout distribution. Consolidate produce when stocks are running low.
- Highlight produce and other healthy choices through signage.
- Bundle foods to provide easy meal ideas or promote unfamiliar foods.
- Set up a healthy ideas table with recipes for unfamiliar and common foods available at your distribution. Check out EatFresh.org for tasty, budget-friendly recipes!
|
Please note that we will continue to bring in various donated items in addition to the TEFAP items listed on Agency Express. To encourage the use of these items, our Nutrition Service Team has created these handouts that you may provide to your neighbors along with these items when ordered.
