Save The Date - 33rd Annual All Agencies Conference
All Agencies In-Person Conference August 11 & 12, 2025
This year, the conference will be held at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank Distribution Center in the City of Industry. The event will include a general session and breakout sessions. Continental breakfast and lunch will be provided. Stay tuned for additional information.
Neighbor Intake Program
The Neighbor Intake Program is a complimentary client intake platform aimed at enhancing the efficiency of client data and monthly reporting by transitioning away from the traditional paper system. Key advantages of this program include the automation of monthly reports for pantries, a more streamlined client intake process, and the provision of laptops and tablets to support the program.
211LA maintains and curates a database of approximately 50,000 health and social services available to Los Angeles County residents. These services include housing, transportation, employment, legal assistance, mental health, food and more. This information is used to provide callers with accurate and up-to-date referrals for the services they need and is accessible to the public on their website.
As we continue to work together to provide essential food and resources to those in need, we want to take a moment to remind our partner agencies of the importance of scheduling pick-ups and deliveries in advance.
Recommended Scheduling Timeline:
To ensure a smooth and efficient process, we highly recommend scheduling your pick-up or delivery for at least one day prior to your scheduled distribution date. This will give your team ample time to sort and prepare the necessary supplies, and allow for any unexpected delays.
Delivery Agency Reminder:
For delivery agencies, please note that our delivery team will make every effort to deliver your supplies between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on your scheduled delivery date. However, we cannot guarantee the exact arrival time, as our schedule may be impacted by various factors. If your agency is unable to store the items and requires a more precise time frame, please contact the Agency Relations team to coordinate a scheduled pick-up instead of a delivery.
Key Points to Remember:
Schedule your pick-ups or deliveries for at least one day prior to your distribution date.
Delivery agencies must be available to accept the delivery between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
There is no guarantee of an exact delivery time.
Agencies unable to store items should contact the Agency Relations team to schedule a pick-up.
By planning ahead and working together, we can ensure that your organization receives the essential food you need to serve your community. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to the AR team. Thank you for your continued partnership and cooperation!
Nutrition Services
A healthy breakfast is like fuel for your day. It jumpstarts your metabolism, boosts energy, and keeps you feeling sharp. Whether it’s a bowl of oats, a smoothie, or eggs, starting your morning right sets you up for success and helps you power through with a smile. Skip the snooze and grab that nutritious bite!
Healthy breakfast is all about balance. Start with protein—think eggs, yogurt, or nut butter—to keep you full. Add some whole grains like oatmeal or whole-wheat toast for energy. Throw in a handful of fruits or veggies for those vitamins, and don’t forget healthy fats from avocado or nuts. It’s the perfect mix to fuel your body and brain for a great day ahead!
TEFAP Revised Recipient Eligibility, Criteria, and Verification
There has been a revision in the TEFAP program policies.
This revision will make the sign in process simpler for you and for recipients. The revision will affect the Alternative Pick Up Request form and the Sign-in Sheet.
Revision Updates:
Alternative Pick Up Request form removes the full address requirement and replaces it with the “County of Residence"
Sign-in Sheets removes the full address requirement and replaces it with the “County of Residence”
This does not remove the requirements of ensuring that all other information fields are completed on the Alternative Pick Up Request form and the Sign-in Sheet.
TEFAP participants cannot be required to provide identification documents in order to receive USDA foods. TEFAP participants can self-attest residency by providing a zip code or county of residence.
All Food Bank agencies have signed an agreement detailing their responsibilities while participating in Food Bank programs. Below is a highlight of policies that must be adhered to by all our agency partners. Otherwise, your account may be placed on hold until the concern is resolved.
All Agencies Agree:
Prepare for Monitor Reports
To permit periodic on-site inspections by the Food Bank’s representatives at Food Bank discretion with or without notice. To permit periodic on-site inspections by food donors or government agencies with or without notice. If an agency is not distributing food according to their established distribution schedule on two or more visits from the Food Bank, the agency account will be subject to suspension and/or termination.
Separate Religious Services by Time or Location
Not to proselytize in conjunction with the agency’s food distribution.
Important Update: New Policy for Food Bank Pick Ups Starting March 3rd
Effective March 3rd, all agencies will be required to present a photo ID (a license, State ID, or other official documentation confirming the representative's name) along with their Agency ID when picking up items. Additionally, it is crucial that you ensure all representatives sign in legibly on the sign-in sheet, clearly indicating which agency they are picking up for.
If your agency does not have your Agency ID card
If your agency does not have your Agency ID card (for instance, if it has been lost or if an unapproved representative is in possession of it), please notify the Agency Relations department immediately.
These changes are implemented to enhance accountability and streamline our processes, ensuring that we continue to serve our communities effectively. Please see additional warehouse policies that must be adhered to while onsite at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank.
Civil Rights Training is mandatory training for all staff of volunteers at TEFAP Sites who interact with participants. The Food Bank Agency Relations Team offers this training monthly.
Do you need a refresher course or have new team members who would benefit from learning about online ordering, agency shopping, monthly reporting, or food distribution policies? Please ask all your staff or long-standing volunteers to attend the next virtual Food Bank 101 training!
