We are pleased to announce Project 29:11, A Community Development Corporation has been recognized as the Agency of the Month for October 2025. Our ongoing partnership has been exceptional, and we wholeheartedly commend their dedication and service to the people of Los Angeles.
Agency Grants
In late 2021, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank was notified about a significant grant available through the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) for infrastructure and capacity building. We used part of this grant to enhance the capabilities of our agency partners by purchasing essential equipment, such as cold storage units, pallet jacks, and shelving, as well as refrigerated vehicles. We distributed a survey to all active agencies during that time. Although we could not fulfill every request, we ultimately assisted 223 agencies with equipment and vehicles. These items were delivered over the course of 2022 to 2025 due to supply chain challenges.
In addition to the CDSS grant, over the past few years, we have utilized the support of various other grants to provide our agencies with specialized equipment and food purchases tailored to the specific requirements of each grant.
The Food Bank continues to pursue additional grants to directly support our partners. We will reach out to you if any new grant opportunities arise for your organization. We greatly value our agency partnerships in the fight against nutrition insecurity.
Onsite Shopping
To achieve a more equitable distribution, the food available during onsite shopping at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is allocated based on your agency's allocation factor, which we refer to as a max factor. Each agency is assigned a max factor based on the number of duplicated households your agency serves weekly. While there are other variables we take into consideration, such as programs offered by your agency, your agency’s distribution frequency, and the capacity to store food safely, the main criterion is the number of households served weekly.
If you feel the amount of food your agency is receiving should be adjusted, please send an email to agency-relations@lafoodbank.org so we can review the allocation factor.
Check In at the Food Bank
Requires a Photo ID
When checking in at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, agencies must provide their Agency ID card, a Photo ID card (a license, State ID, or other official documentation confirming the representative's name), and legibly write their name on the sign-in sheet.
These changes are implemented to enhance accountability and streamline our processes, ensuring that we continue to serve our communities effectively. Please see below a list of additional warehouse policies that must be adhered to while conducting business at the LA Regional Food Bank.
We recognize that many of our agencies offer special distributions or meal services during the holiday season. Please fill out the form below if your agency will be hosting any such events. A member of our team may contact you for more details if needed.
If your agency would like to confirm the order that they have placed, please reach out to a member of the Inventory Control Team before 11:00 a.m.
IOC can be reached at 323-234-3030 with the following extensions
125 - Paula Bass
184 - Carina Garcia
117 - Raquel Diaz
118 - Jojo Flores
193 - Sharlyn Tapia
Follow Up is Required If No Confirmation Email is Received
If you do not receive a confirmation email, your order has not been placed successfully. If this is the case, please contact a member of Agency Relations between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. for assistance with processing your order through the system.
Orders not pushed through and a confirmation email sent by noon on the ordering deadline will not be processed. If you need assistance with order processing, please reach out to the following contacts:
Agencies may not add items to their cart outside of their ordering window. These items will not be held in your cart until it is time to place your order. Logging in the day before does not save products for your agency and will prevent the Agency Express system from processing orders correctly for other agencies.
